At this terrible time, with so many patients and NHS staff battling coronavirus I want to raise money to support them. I am asking for donations to the Imperial Health charity Covid-19 Relief Fund which is helping the staff who are tackling coronavirus on the front line. 

This is in honour of NHS staff who are risking their lives to fight coronavirus. Selfless nurses like Ameera Nasreen and Aimee O'Rourke who both died in the early weeks. And it is in memory of my darling Richard who received such fantastic care at St Mary's ICU when he was admitted in January 2017. He had developed multiple organ failure after contracting flu and pneumonia. 

As a family we want to say a massive thanks to the talented ICU team. It was nurses like Keeva who meticulously monitored Richard's ventilator and life support machine who enabled him to recover and come out of his induced coma, learn to breath again and talk with us.

We know from first hand experience how crucial it is for the NHS staff to have ventilators and proper safety equipment to be able to fight flu.

Tragically Richard died a few weeks later from other complications. But it was the loving, dedicated care that Richard received at St Mary's ICU that helped him recover slightly and gave us a few extra precious weeks together. 

His care in ICU gave him a fighting chance. We want other people to have that fighting chance.
