Hi everyone! My name is Rhiannon and I will be running the London Marathon in April 2023. I am running for St David's Hospice Care - a charity with a beautiful vision to help those with life limiting illnesses with unconditional support for everyone affected by the experience. This is a charity I want to raise £1,500 for as it is a charity that has helped important people in my life so it is extremely important to me to push myself to run and raise money for the cause. 

I would really appreciate you taking the time to read my hopes for this experience:

Running has always been a scary idea to me and I haven't had any previous running experience. However, some important people in my life ran the marathon in October 2022 and I went to support them and was so inspired by everyone running. There was a huge sense of community and love in the air. I wanted to turn that inspiration into motivation to be able to achieve the same. I am always trying to better myself personally but also for the people around me, and I have found running is a great challenge and a positive experience. If someone had told me a few months ago that I would be preaching about running I wouldn't have believed it, but here I am! I'm currently training and already feeling the physical and wellbeing rewards. 

When there are days when I'm feeling a bit tired and don't feel like training the amazing work undertaken by St Davids Hospice Care keeps me motivated. By the end of April 2023 I hope to be able to say that I went from running less than a mile to 26.2 miles,and, more importantly, that I was able to do my best to help make a difference to families supported by St Davids Hospice Care. 

Hospice care offers reassurance of round-the-clock expert care, in a friendly, welcoming environment for those who are living through a life limiting illness.From managing someone's pain, to looking after their emotional, spiritual and social needs, hospice care supports the whole person, helping them to live their life to the full.
