Rhiannon's BAKE FOR BEAT

RHIANNON MOSS is raising money for Beat

BAKE FOR BEAT · 14 February 2021

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

Through out my fitness journey i have pushed my body from one extreme to another, resulting in a vicious cycle of binge eating and misusing laxatives to deal with the anxiety and guilt.  I have worked hard to re gain control and although i have seen results I'm proud of physically, for me the biggest transformation has been my mentality.  I want to use the time and energy I have spent worrying about food, calories and my weight to do something to help others.

Binge eating disorder will affect one in fifty of us in our lifetime, it is the most common but least understood. It isn’t about being greedy or lacking in willpower, but a serious mental illness which many suffer alone, often with the fear of how others might react to the reason they don’t reach out for help.   As someone who has a history with this disorder I feel really passionate about raising awareness to help others understand and more importantly for those struggling to receive support in recovery!
