Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! Having run my first marathon last October and my second in May in Belfast , I have now got the marathon bug, and I am ready for my next challenge, the London Marathon this October.

I am excited to be raising money for United Response, a charity committed to working with people with a range of disabilities and mental health needs to live the lives they deserve, as independently as possible. They support some of the most vulnerable people in society, many of whom have spent part of their lives living in institutions. They also support an increasing number of people with profound and complex needs – people that other organisations may not be able to reach. Whether providing 24 hour care or just a few hours of help with the weekly shop, their support makes the difference between an isolated existence and a meaningful, independent life lived fully in the community.

As a social psychologist working towards promoting a more equitable and inclusive society, and as someone who - like so many of us - has struggled with their mental health, this is a cause close to my heart. I would be so grateful for any donations, however small. Thank you ❤️
