"WWF is at the heart of global efforts to address the world’s most important environmental challenges: safeguarding the natural world, tackling climate change and enabling people to use only their fair share of natural resources. Together we can build a future where people and nature thrive."
My first cuddly toy as a child was a panda and since then I've been fascinated by these cuddly, clumsy animals who now - thanks to WWF - are no longer critically endangered. As well as protecting wildlife this organisation also protects natural habitats, rivers, lakes, promote sustainable food and fishing, responsible oil, gas and mining, and work to address issues with climate change and energy.
This work can only happen if we support it. I've been an animal adopter for a while making regular donations but now I'm attempting to make a bigger contribution whilst tackling the next big challenge for me personally - running a marathon. Distance running is one of the most natural activities for humans and something I absolutely love to do, especially when I get to go out around the parks and lakes around my lovely hometown of Abingdon.
But I need your help! If you've ever enjoyed a walk in the park, by a river, sat on a beautiful beach, maybe climbed a mountain, admired a sunset or the changing colours in the trees as the seasons turn, enjoyed seeing animals from far away places at the zoo or on tv, or excitedly spotted squirrels as you go around day to day. This planet and all its wonders is our home and as us humans are capable of making a mess of it we are also responsible for doing all that we can to keep it as clean and healthy as possible so that it can sustain us and the creatures we share it with, especially those who need our help to survive. Please share your love and appreciation of nature by making a donation!
Thank you :)
