I’ve been a patron of Velindre for over 10 years and have led five previous fundraising treks. When I say ‘led’…I’m always at the back.

To say this one will be special is an understatement. It’s always an amazing experience; fun, interesting, moving and inspiring, but this time I can add in the fact that I literally owe Velindre my life.

It’s thanks to the skill of my doctors, Velindre and the wonderful NHS, that I’m able to do this. I’m feeling great and determined to keep raising as much money as I can, for as long as I can.

So…my bags are packed and I’m about to lead my next trek. This time, we’re hiking up the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains; up the 4,167-metre (13,671ft) Mount Toubkal in Morocco to raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre.
