Story

After many years of saying that only lunatics run marathons I have taken leave of my senses and decided to do just that. This spring I will be running Brighton Half Marathon, The Thames 20 and Brighton Marathon. I think it's some kind of midlife crisis (right now my joints certainly feel as though they are unlikely to make it past 62).

I'm also raising some cash for the awesome Sussex Beacon. This small HIV/AIDS charity punches well above its weight - every year they organise Brighton Half Marathon - my very favourite race. The work they do is especially important right now. HIV infection rates are unfortunately on the rise again in the UK. Whilst treatment has improved dramatically many people still need the support of charities like Sussex Beacon in order to stay healthy and live normal lives. Please give what you can to make sure they can continue their wonderful work. Your donations will also be very motivating to me as I trudge the frozen pavements like a regretful, lycra-clad hobbit.
