Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon · 27 March 2022 ·

We provide a range of services in Herefordshire and the surrounding area to people living with a terminal illness. Care is free to patients, their families and carers. This is thanks to supporters taking part in events, visiting our shops, playing our Lottery, donating and leaving gifts in wills.

Story

At the end of March, I will be running the Cardiff Half marathon for St Michael's Hospice in Hereford. They are a wonderful charity from my hometown, who provide fantastic care for people with a terminal illness.

I am running in memory of my Grandmother, Illyn Davies (1934 - 2007), who was diagnosed with and unfortunately passed away from Creutzfeld-Jakob disease - a rare brain condition.

Her terminal care was provided by the hospice and they did an amazing job trying to make her as comfortable as possible at the end of her life.

I have never run a half marathon before, and I feel that by pushing myself to raise this money will help them to help others - just as they did for my Grandmother. This is also a lovely way to honour her memory.

All donations of any size are welcome, whatever you feel you can spare will always be appreciated!
