Story
Sydenham’s Chorea is a very rare neurological disorder which can affect young children, sometimes continuing into adulthood.. It causes dance like random movements in limbs, gait and speech. It is very distressing for the child and the family. It also causes behavioural changes and other physical symptoms. Many healthcare professionals have not come across a child with Sydenham’s Chorea and are unable to help parents, which is where the Sydenham’s Chorea Association comes into play.
The Sydenham's Chorea Association provides key information about the condition to patients, their families and others to help them understand the condition and to manage it. Health professionals, parents and children have shared their stories to help others understand how the condition presents and is treated. Money raised supports family and education days, and helps us to fund research into the condition, working with a network of professionals. Our support network connects families all over the world.
