Story
My daughter, Victoria, has been one of the greatest inspirations and blessings in my life.
From the very first moment I held her in my arms, I understood how powerful a parent’s love can be. I realised that I would do whatever I could to protect her, support her, and give her the opportunity to grow up happy and healthy.
Victoria has made me stronger. She has taught me that, even when something seems difficult or impossible, we can find the strength to overcome it when there is something greater than ourselves driving us forward.
And that made me think: if I would do anything for my daughter, why wouldn't I do my part for children who don't have the same opportunities?
Colombia needs our support!
Colombia has been facing difficult times, and the recent earthquake has had a devastating impact on communities, affecting essential infrastructure such as hospitals and schools and making life even harder for vulnerable children and families.
As a Colombian, it is difficult to see children facing circumstances they did not choose and cannot control. They deserve the opportunity to grow, learn, receive the care they need, and build a better future.
I have been looking for ways to give back and support my country, and I recently discovered Friends of Colombia for Social Aid (FOCSA). I immediately connected with their beautiful mission of supporting vulnerable children and young people in Colombia.
That is why I decided to take on a challenge of my own.
I will be running the Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon in London to raise funds for FOCSA and help support vulnerable children and young people in Colombia affected by serious illness and unforeseen circumstances.
I may only be running one race, but together we can make a much bigger difference.
When you support my fundraiser, your donation will help FOCSA continue its work supporting seriously ill and vulnerable children and young people in Colombia.
