Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2019 our family was devastated with the news that my nephew, Jake McPhail, had sadly taken his own life.

In response, the Ask for Jake non-profit charity has been formed to provide a network of local businesses, coaches, community leaders and just general people where anyone can ‘Ask for Jake’ which will prompt immediate support on a personal and community-led basis.

This initiative is not solely about suicide but includes all challenges including self-harming, eating and behaviour issues, drug and alcohol dependency and any other issue which manifests in the first instance.

The basic aim is to be a much more accessible first point of contact for individuals who are struggling or for those concerned for others.

To raise funds for the charity I have decided to run the "End-to-end LEJOG 6", an online, virtual running challenge covering the 874 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats, over a period of 12 months. I will still have to physically run the miles, so don't think I'm getting away lightly!

Lets see if we can't raise a £1 for every mile I run!

Many thanks, Nick.
