Rich runs London

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
Hello everyone,
After years of delays and stop-start training, I will be finally taking part in the London marathon on 2nd October. And as many of you will already know, I'm running to raise money for Target Ovarian Cancer in memory of my Mum.
My mum, Sandra D, was diagnosed with stage 3/stage 4 Ovarian Cancer about 6 years ago. She had a hysterectomy, several rounds of chemotherapy, some radiotherapy and yet more chemo. It was a lot to go through but Mum took it on in her own irrepressible and inspiring style.
Mum sadly passed away peacefully in March 2020 surrounded by me, my dad and my sister. Thankfully it was just a few days before lockdown so she never had to endure the pain and trauma of the pandemic.
The pandemic also meant that my efforts to run the marathon have been delayed until now. It was never my mum's dream or desire to see me complete 26 miles but I'm sure she'd be glad to see me run my 'lazy arse' round London for a good cause.
Thank you to everyone who has already helped me raise over £2000 - that's far more than I ever expected! If you've yet to donate or have any pennies spare, I would be really grateful if you could sponsor me to help Target Ovarian Cancer support others like Sandra D.
