Story
RAF Coltishall closed its gates for the final time in 2006 after 66 years of service to the crown, and proudly boasts its legacy as a Battle of Britain fighter station, remaining an operational fighter station until its closure in 2006.
During WWII Coltishall became synonymous with Aces such as Douglas Bader, R R Stanford Tuck, 'Sailor Malan' and 'Cats-Eyes' Cunningham. From Spitfires, Hurricanes, Beaufighters, Mosquitos into the jet age of Lightnings and Jaguars, Coltishall hardly changed its role or character.
