10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.

Story

My biggest inspiration and motivation for running as always and will continue to be Seimon Owain Jones and raising awareness of Ataxia.

Seimon suffers from Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) it's thought to affect at least 1 in every 50,000 people.

FA is a rare disease that causes progressive nervous system damage and movement problems.  It usually begins in childhood and leads to impaired muscle coordination (ataxia) that worsens over time.

Having worked closely with Seimon and developed an enormous friendship, respect and understanding. I’ve been very fortunate that Seimon has asked me to join him in various places, events and personal occasions. Regardless how Axatia effects Sei on a daily basis he consistently possesses the discipline and enthusiasm to regularly attend the gym 3 times a week, football matches, attend social events and has one of the funniest/wicked personalities. He continually displays amazing traits of caring for others, humbleness, courage, determination and passion to fulfill his potential without his disability holding him back whatsoever.

Having already completed 4 half marathons and 1 Virtual London Marathon this year (2020), I've now been fortunate enough to earn a place to run the 2021 London Marathon. Therefore I'll be continuing my fundraising via this page to raise as much money as possible for such an amazing charity.

The donations raised will continually support the amazing ongoing work by the Ataxia UK:

🔘Finding treatments and a cure

🔘Improving care:

🔘Raising Awareness of Ataxia UK

🔘Providing Support: ‘Ataxia UK will provide services that meet the needs unique to people affected by ataxia (or that can only be effectively delivered by us), which will enable them to have the maximum possible choices on how they live their lives.’

Thank you for your support and donations
