Story

My good friends Georgie and Chris recently had their first little bundle of joy, Reggie who was born in December 2019 with Down's Syndrome. As they left hospital they were provided with resources produced by the Down's Syndrome Association aimed at giving information to new parents. These were very useful reference guides and helped provide reassurance and confidence.

In recent years there have been huge advances in the support available to children living with Down's Syndrome, leading to significant improvements in quality of life and prospects. Little Reggie is already benefiting from this through the publications provided free of charge; however, they are expensive for the small charity to produce. To ensure that all new parents can receive the support and guidance the association relies on voluntary donations.

In an effort to help raise funds, myself and Chris have decided to take on the 100-mile 2020 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey. This cycle event will take us through the capital and out into Surrey’s stunning countryside. We will battle the leg-testing climbs of Leith Hill and Box Hill on the route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics. It will be a truly spectacular event for all involved and we hope that our efforts will result in a contribution to the Down's Syndrome Association that will make a real difference to real lives.
