Story
For a while now I have been thinking of a way to raise money for The Lily Foundation who supports suffers of mitochondrial disease which my little princess Lana has. The Lily Foundation is important for the support it gives to the families as well as forming vital links between patients, doctors and the medical science bodies.
For all those who know me you'll know that I have been on my own battle for the last 8 months and with nearly 5 stone lost I feel more motivated than ever to begin and complete this challenge.
Starting on the 1st July I am going to attempt a "round the world cycle challenge" on my trustee exercise bike as unfortunately I still have to work and do everything else in a normal week. I plan to complete the 29000 kilometre journey over 18 months, starting July 1st 2018 and finishing before December 31st 2019.
The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting. Please stand with us and fight Mitochondrial Disease and fight for hope.
