Story
As many of you know, I ran the Newport Marathon in 2018 in memory of Adam Wise, who sadly died post-liver transplant aged 8 years old. Thanks to your support, over £2,000 was raised in aid of the Children's Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF), a charity which provided Adam's family with great support during his illness.
Josh, Adam's younger brother was also born with liver disease and he received a successful transplant as a baby during the Coronavirus lockdown. Now, a toddler, it is amazing to see the progress Josh is making, thanks to the expertise of the staff at Birmingham's Children's Hospital and with the support of CLDF.
The coronavirus lockdown made the transplant process all the more difficult for Josh's family; and it has also had an adverse affect on the funding that CLDF receive. As with other small charities, their income has been significantly reduced during the pandemic. This has an obvious knock-on effect to the help that they are able to provide the families of children with liver disease.
In memory of Adam I am running the London Marathon in October, again in aid of CLDF. Any donations that you are able to make are appreciated and will go a long way in supporting this very important charity.
