Story
Since 2010, Richard Goddard has hosted an annual
evening at the Central School of Ballet when we have been able to watch dance pieces in their final stages of rehearsal, prior to the cast taking the show on tour to venues around England. In addition, we do get to meet the dancers afterwards over a glass of wine.
These visits were curtailed by Covid-19 restrictions in 2020 and 2021 but we are delighted to announce that a date has been fixed for 2022. This should be an especially memorable visit because, at long last, the School has moved from its Victorian premises to a brand-new location on the South Bank. One of the many advantages of this new site is that the principal studio has seating for 100 guests.
Date: Wednesday, 9th March 2022
Location: Central School of Ballet, The Countess of Wessex Studios, 21-22 Hatfields, Paris Garden, London, SE1 8DJ
Nearest Tube: Southwark (Jubilee Line)
Costs: This event is part of Richard Goddard’s commitment to the Central School and there is no charge to participate. However, it is to be hoped that all those attending would make a donation to the Central School and arrangements for giving will be circulated at a later date.
Please try and make this event a great success. The young people are dedicated and deserve our support but please bear in mind that you will be seeing “a work in progress” with no scenery and minimal costumes. However, it is a wonderful glimpse “behind the scenes”. and an opportunity to meet the young dancers.
