Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page. Please donate as much as you can for a worthy cause.

Hello my name is Richard Gwyther and I’m currently working to organise a charity walk for me and a few friends to raise some money for Macmillian. This charity lies close to all our hearts. It is a walk to
Swanseas first away game to Burnley from the Liberty Stadium. (220 miles!!!) Hopefully we will make it to the game on time!!

The reason I am raising money is that my father has been diagnosed with cancer which is terminal. He has had a lot of support from
Macmillan nurses, and I feel the need to help out as much as possible, not just for him but others also.  This is a big challenge for me personally. I have been thinking of ways I could raise money.
It was obvious for me to incorporate something to do with Swansea city as I have been a season ticket holder and a loyal supporter for over 15 years.  We hope to achieve our fundraising goal. This can only be achieved with the assistance of generous donations.  We appreciate if there is anything you could do to help us out. Every little helps!

Thank you for your support

Daves story,

My Grandfather was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was given a week, we had the option to keep him in hospital or to bring him home with the family.

We desided to bring him home, to spend his last days with us. We was given McMillan to contact fo there support and they where fantastic, helped with care night and day, financial advice and when my grandfather passed away a week later, they were still there.

Now my father-in-law (Richards father) has been diagnosed with cancer which is terminal, he is well respected in the community and has worked very hard everyone has been there for him and to have the support from McMillan is a god send and once again they have been fantastic.

All I can say please, please donate its easy. Now you can text your donations by texting BAZG60 £(amount you want to donate) to 70070.

Let us do the hard bit and walk the 220 miles.

Thank you

Craig's story,

In 2014...., our family was hit with the devastating news 2 days before Christmas that our wee mum had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It's the one sentence every family fears, that horrible word!! The feeling of being powerless, and all we wanted to do was take it away from her, but we couldn't!  she had caught it in her cervics, womb and pelvis with a Tumour putting pressure on her kidney, and because it had spread in her bones she was told she would have to have  treatment and scans on a regular basis for the rest of her life.

However, the cancer had something to fear also!! It was up against the twiggy....

18 months has past now since twiggy was diagnosed, and after multiple radiotherapy/chemotherapy and trial drugs, she still goes about her everyday life with a huge smile on her face and a great positive attitude! She truly is an insiration to us all, a great role model, a fantastic mum and grandmother, and the rock that holds our family together. She simply is MAGIC...

The challenge had been set before the premier league fixtures even came out. We were going to walk to the first Swansea fc away game, no matter where it was. So when burnley had been confirmed we knew it wasn't gony be a stroll in the park. 220 miles from Liberty stadium to burnley awaits us, with minimal pocket money, camping on the roadsides and living off the land and generosity of the public ,this truly is gony be a challenge (especially for me being shacked up in a tent with 3 welshys)

This is for a great cause guys, so please donate what you can( however big or small) it will truly be appreciated!!  Macmillan continue to provide a fantastic service and support the family's effected by cancer so it will be a great feeling to give something back. I would also like to give a big thank you to the western general hospital in Scotland who treated my uncle before he passed away, and who continue to treat and support my mum.

Thank you
