On the 4th June 2021 I had the horrendous call that my wonderful bright inspirational friend had sadly lost her fight with Leukaemia.

Tash and I had been friends since school, both walking through the daunting gates of CPGS in September 1998 not knowing what new friends we would make or how long those friendships would last.
Although we were in separate year groups we would always find the time to sit at break have a chat before going back to our respective classes.
We lost touch for a little while, speaking mainly on social media, catching up on life through messenger.
In 2017 she messaged me when I announced we were expecting baby number 2...she was also expecting but had kept it quiet but checking the dates we were about 8 weeks apart.
We were once again inseparable talking about how our boys would grow up firm friends, play dates and dinners were already planned...

As the boys got bigger we would take them to Krazy Kaves, Thomas' Big Day out, the splash Park....seeing them play together was perfect, while we sat having a chat and a cuppa.

Then on the 5th January 2020 she messaged that she was at the walk in, she couldn't raise her arms and was so much pain.
On January 10th 2020 I received a message, 3 words that will be burned into my memory "I have leukaemia"
But that didn't make her stop... Intense treatment started straight away on the 11th, a month in hospital at a time, the side affects were scary, she lost her lovely brown curly hair, but she didn't wear a hat or a wig, she owned that shiny baldness with a massive smile on her face! "it's just hair, it'll grow back" is what she said to me.

Covid put a stop to visitors so I could no longer just pop up to see her on the oncology ward but funny face selfies and calls went back and forth.

In June 2020, she was told she was in complete remission, she could start planning stuff again. She booked a holiday to Turkey for May 2021 for herself, Ray and the boys, something to look forward to after such a horrible year. She couldn't wait!!
On the 18th February 2021 I had another message "its back" this time it was in the spine, but she started treatments again, determined to beat it.
She complained so much about the terrible hospital food that I would sneak up to the ward during work trying to hide a pizza from the canteen so she could eat something different, or sneak in early on a weekend with a macdonalds breakfast, just so she had something nice. The smile was always worth it.

My last message from Tash was 6th May 2021, she had deteriorated and could no longer respond to me.

A wonderful mother, partner, sister, daughter and aunt.
I miss my fun, highland cow loving, dynamic, amazing friend
