SEED Madagascar is an award-winning, holistic international development charity who envisages communities and ecosystems thriving across Madagascar. Our mission is to enhance the capacity of individuals, communities, organisations, and government to achieve sustainable development.

Story

Crisis in Madagascar

More than one million people in Madagascar’s southern regions are currently suffering from sever food shortages.

Children under 5 are the group worst affected by Madagascar’s famine and many have become clinically malnourished. SEED Madagascar is working to support these children and their families with emergency food and treatment.

£3.75 will provide a child with food for 2 weeks.

SEED Madagascar

My daughter Polly is working with SEED in southern Madagascar.

SEED Madagascar’s central mission is to enhance the capacity of individuals, communities, organisations, and government in fulfilling sustainable environment, education, and development goals in southeast Madagascar. SEED achieve this by working across four departments to respond to the most critical and express needs of the country: community health, education infrastructure, sustainable livelihoods, and environmental conservation. SEED’s approach is based on partnership, co-management, and skill-sharing. SEED work with Malagasy people in everything they do.

The Dursley Dozen

The Dursley Dozen is now in its 32nd year and is established as one of the toughest off-road races around and run under the ARC rules. (ARC permit number 22/064)

A multi-terrain race of twelve miles over hillsides, roads, woodland, open country, mud, more mud, and solid rock. The course sets off steeply up a road for 200 metres and the ascends a woodland track to the top of Stinchcombe hill.

After a short run around the golf course, the route re-enters the woods (steep descent) before climbing steeply back to the golf course. A short run on the road then onto a muddy track through the woods. Across the road, then an undulating path leads to a steep descent to the New Inn followed by a steep ascent back to the hilltop. Through the quarry then three miles of track (sometimes very muddy) through the beech woods.

For the final climb, "THE PRECIPICE" ropes are provided. Two miles of grassland track around the golf course and back through the woods to the finish.
