Story

On my 49th birthday last year, I decided I had to do something that would challenge my fitness and beer belly! When I suggested to a good friend ( Paul Armer, a marathon runner) that we should cycle from Lands End to John O Groats, (1000 miles) he instantly agreed and that was it, we were committed!

To give me added incentive to complete the challenge, I have decided to raise money for The Knight Foundation, who help Cystic Fibrosis sufferers and do research into the condition.

Why The Knight Foundation?

At school, I got to know twin girls,  Michelle and Christine -they both suffered from Cystic Fibrosis. Their treatment and the effects of CF meant that life has been tough for them both. However, whenever I saw them, they were always happy and smiling. This always inspired and amazed me. Sadly, in May this year Michelle lost her fight with CF and so I am dedicating this cycle ride to her memory.

Please spur me on by supporting my fund raising efforts.

Paul and I will be setting off this coming Sunday (21 July) and expect the journey to take us 2 weeks. If you would like to join us on the ride or encourage us, along the route,  email me and I will give you more details. We will be posting daily updates (we hope) en-route on Facebook and Just Giving.

Thank you for your support.

Richard
