Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·

The Attlee Centre was set up by the Attlee Foundation to commemorate Clement Attlee's life, work and achievements through piloting projects that benefit the people he cared most about - those disadvantaged by poverty, disability or lack of opportunity, particularly children and young people.

Story

On Sunday 17th April, four members of the CREAS London family will be running in the gruelling 26.2 mile Virgin London Marathon !!

Richard Hyde (Shared Services), Michelle Gray (Real Estate PS&M), Wayne Tanner (Global SDM Head of Facility Services) and Julia Yap (CREAS BUC) have all been training hard through the cold winter months and are now only a few days away from their big day.

This is Michelle and Wayne 's first attempt at the marathon distance, whereas  Julia has previously finished the Singapore Marathon and Richard has run 8 marathons raising well over £10,000 for various charities.

This year, Richard and Wayne have pledged to raise at least £3,000 for The Attlee Foundation, which is a charity closely associated with UBS London. The Foundation is based just a short distance away from our Liverpool Street offices and benefits people disadvantaged by poverty or lack of opportunity. Past projects range from setting up ‘eye camps’ in India to developing an adventure playground in London’s East End.
