Story

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to read this please read on and you will see what, where when and why.

Ramadan is the most sacred month in the year for Muslims around the globe, this is in the region of 1.6 Billion people. one of the five pillars of Islam during this period is fasting. for the duration of the holy month, this is between dawn and sunset. It is this I will be doing for the duration of Ramadan.

Why?

I found my self pondering about the effects that fasting has on Muslims during this time. I wanted to understand what it is like to fast for Ramadan and ultimately I felt that the best way to do this would be to actually fast.

Through the duration of the holy month I will be recording videos and live facebook, instagram or twitter links below. This month will be hard as I have never fasted before apart from for a blood test!!!!

This will be both endurance of my mind my mental wellbeing as well as physically enduring.

I intend where possible to visit mosques around London and learn about views, beliefs and understandings with the overall aim to build my knowledge to share further both in the workplace and beyond.

I hope to raise the awareness of Mental Health and Wellbeing in the communities I meet and subsequently share my learning and day to day feelings through the month.
