Story
Hello!
Hard to believe but I'm giving it a go - London Marathon, 2010. I was asked back in October by Dad , who volunteers his time to Womens Caring Trust, if I'd consider running the London Marathon. And of course we know the answer to that question - so I'm off and running.
So who is the Womens Caring Trust ? It was founded in 1972 by Lady Fisher to help Northern Irish youth most adversely affected by violence and community tension. It's now focused on building bridges between communities through creative and collaborative activities for young people ( 11-18 yrs). Young people are in need all over the world but there is a very real and continuing need on our own doorstep. The aftercare of the Peace Building Process is as important now as intervention was during the conflict. Women Caring Trust provides a channel for your practical help.
The Trust is non-sectarian, non political and believes passionately that the best hope for peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland is on the ground and in the communities. For more details I encourage you to check out the website for Womens Caring Trust. It's truly a worthy cause.
