Story

Over the past 6 years Frimley Park Hospital has helped all the members of my family. I have had surgery on both my knees with such success that it allows me to run again and take part in what will be my hardest event yet.

Both of my girls were born in the maternity ward at Frimley and they looked after my wife and new born child both times. With our youngest there was an issue at birth but with the amazing response from staff at the time all went very smoothly (although I may not have been so calm). Also we have had a few rushes to the A&E over the years for either myself or the children and can't fault the staff in any way.

The event itself is, for me, huge. For starters it is around the magical place of Disneyworld Orlando but it also involves running a 5k on Thursday morning, a 10k on Friday morning, a half marathon on Saturday morning and if that wasn't enough a full marathon on the Sunday morning. All in all it's just shy of 50 miles running.

I feel that after they have looked after my family and I over the years it is about time I give back to the amazing staff and truly wonderful hospital.
