Team Robinson hit the road again. As most of you know so well by now, we started fund-raising for this charity back in 2009. We do it because we know that without the school and college Niall would not have achieved as much as he has done. In July he finally left college, the same door he entered back in September 2003, when he went for his assessment. Eileen still talks about that week, and that at the end they were unsure as to whether or not they could meet his needs and offered an "extended assessment". That was a long extension! 

In July, we attended the college awards evening where Niall won the vocational award for his work experience at the Co-Op in Hexham. In 2003, our very insular 5 year old couldn't participate in the Annual Nativity and astounded us by doing his Michael Jackson moonwalk onto the stage to proudly accept his award. He was also given a special award for fund-raising. he did the Junior GNR 5 years ago, but has done bucket collections on 3 occasions as we want him involved in voluntary work too.

Staff at Percy Hedley School/College continue to provide the best of care and education to children and young people with Special Educational Needs. We can never thank them enough and it is why, year after year we have trained, set ourselves targets and run and swam our hearts out. The Great North Run has become part of our annual calendar and we enjoy meeting others who support the charity. For me, Declan and Aisling the welcome we receive at the tent from Maria and Suzanne, along with Eileen and Niall is almost as good as the massage, food and drink.

This year, as Niall has now moved on to pastures new will be the last time we run for Percy Hedley and we would just love to go out on a fund-raising high. If you have supported us before, thank you.
