Help
more children access education …
I GOT SHOES is a brilliant local charity based in Brentwood Essex. 100% of any donation goes in helping Ugandan children receive an education.
I GOT SHOES charity has just sent 24 students to Senior School in Rakai and Kampala District, in Uganda. For most, they are
the first in their villages to have been given this opportunity. These students will experience a safe boarding environment; academic and vocational training, plus practical life skills. Many are orphans or come from single parent families and will be mentored to help overcome any trauma from their past.
Most of all, we are excited that out of our 24 students, 15 are girls. Did you know that around 130 million girls worldwide have NO ACCESS to education? In Uganda, if funds for school fees are limited, boys will be chosen over girls in a family. If young girls remain at home, they will likely become housemaids, carers for young siblings, forced to marry, or worse i.e. subject to being trafficked.
We are thankful for these girls who we are able to support by your generous donations. Their future has many positive opportunities afforded by education.
We are looking to raise £584 to help cover the remaining cost for these students for 2023 academic year. There are 2 further
students on the waiting list and any additional funds raised will go to towards their support.
This funding raised for each child goes towards the costs of Tuition, Admission, Medical check-up, School Uniform including SHOES, Writing materials, Sports T shirt, weekend/evening wear etc.
Thank you for any part you can play in helping keep these beautiful children in education!
