Music is powerful; it raises the spirits, helps people see beyond boundaries and raises educational attainment and aspiration. And access to enjoying and making it shouldn't be the preserve of the few.

For 40 years Spitalfields Music has brought people and communities together through its festivals and an impactful programme of music making in Tower Hamlets - a borough that has the highest rate of childhood poverty in the UK. 

I will be walking 20km to raise funds towards the continuation of its exceptional work - sharing the joy of music making of the highest quality with people of all ages and backgrounds in east London.
