It's been almost five years since my original lung event and a year since my brain drama. But amazingly I find myself - touch wood - in excellent  health and with a new outlook on life.

In many ways I think of myself as being very fortunate  - and as I reflect on my experience, I can see how luck, but also amazing science, and superb oncology treatment  were all crucial in getting me to where I am today.

So what I want to do now is start to give back and help others benefit from the oncology research that helped me. Plus the thought of the physical challenge - something I've never attempted before - is hugely motivating. 

Who knows where it will take me next - maybe London to Paris?
