I have decided to try and complete my first ever Ultra Marathon and Annmarie and Freya say I should try and raise some money whist doing it!! 

The Stour Valley 100km ultra is an endurance race starting in Newmarket  Suffolk and finishing in Cattawade near Manningtree Essex. It’s being held on Saturday 13th of August. 

This ultra marathon is 100km  (62 miles ) in length and I must complete it within 15.5 hours or the race closes. The SVP100 covers almost the entire length of a well marked trail, and is one of the longest point to point races in East Anglia. 

The path is notable for the beauty of the scenery en route. The landscape of the Stour Valley was made famous by painters such as John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough, and inspired the author Beatrix Potter. So if you wanted to pop up and cheer me along at any of the waypoints there’s some lovely countryside to see. 

I am raising sponsorship for Freyas school PTA. As most of you know Annmarie is the Chairperson of the PTA and works really hard to raise much needed funds so all the children can benefit from additional funding for the fun side of school life. They have recently paid for things  such as subsidising school trips, funding kits for the school teams or play equipment in the school grounds. If PTAS didn’t exist school budgets really wouldn’t stretch to these sorts of things.
