Marathon-de-Sopwith 2020 · 26 April 2020

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is an independent local Dorset charity providing extraordinary care to people and their loved ones facing a life-limiting illness. We support over one thousand patients and families every year in their homes, virtually, and at our hubs.

Story

Sunday 26th April was meant to be London Marathon Day but with the postponement a lot of charities will be missing out on a major source of donations.

So as an alternative we thought we could complete a cul-de-sac Marathon raising some funds for the Lewis-Manning Hospice, a local charity in Dorset.

We plan to do 210 laps of the cul-de-sac (26.2 miles). All neighbours have been invited to help achieve the distance whilst observing social distancing rules. Fancy dress is optional and the weather is looking good.

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is a charity helping people with life limiting illnesses and their families across East Dorset. Our free palliative care services include: - Day hospice- Creative arts & well-being support- Lymphoedema clinic- Better breathing clinic We promote acceptance, hope & peace of mind, helping people live well through their illness. It costs more than £1.3 million a year to provide our important services. Your support is vital to the future of the hospice.
