Story
This August I'm taking on Breakthrough T1D's Sit Up Challenge, completing 1922 sit ups, 62 a day, celebrating the first big breakthrough in T1D history. In 1922, insulin was first used to treat type 1 diabetes, proving for the first time that blood glucose could be managed and that living with the condition was possible.
Each year I try to give back, without the help of others we wouldn’t have had half the information and help needed to support my Son.
He was diagnosed at age 12, an age which is critical for most pre teens. Adding to this pressure with being diagnosed with T1D. It’s heartbreaking to watch someone you love have to deal with something so life changing, as a parent there’s always the want to take the pain away and you can’t. Giving back just a little in the hope that a cure can be found and that more young people receive the support and care they need to help them through.
Thank you for your support, whatever you donate is really appreciated. Together, we can help to cure type 1 diabetes!
