Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

We conduct world class medical research projects. We diagnose and treat thousands of people with epilepsy every year. We do this and much more. We are the UK’s national medical epilepsy charity. With Epilepsy Society, you don’t have to deal with epilepsy alone.

Story

This year, I ran the London Marathon in memory of my brother, Tim, who died during a seizure back in 1986. I'm raising money for the National Society for Epilepsy, a charity that does so much to help people like my brother. There is a lot still to learn about epilepsy and of course the research that's needed costs money. They also provide much-needed support to people with epilepsy and help raise awareness of this illness, which affects over half a million people in the UK.

It was my sixth London marathon but I've never before run it for charity. It felt good to be running for my brother and for a great charity, and to have the support of so many of my friends and relatives.

Thanks very much

Richard
