So originally this was a "turning 40" challenge but a pesky global pandemic got in the way! Despite that and with the massive support of Mike Smith I did run the Virtual London Marathon in 2020.

However it's now time to get back to the original challenge of doing all three of the London Classics. It will have an * against the challenge as Ride London is likely to be Ride Peak District but pretty certain the hills are bigger in the North than down in Surrey.

That global pandemic has also highlighted why it matters to do the fundraising in the first place so please dig deep to support great initiatives like MS-UK Online.

All in memory of my Mum who sadly passed away 7 years ago from MS but would have loved to see me racing these events. Many of my friends met my mum on cold and wet riverbanks as she cheered me on during my rowing years. Many years before she would have done the same at school football events!

As with most sons I owe my Mum more than I could ever put into words; she helped mould me into the person I am now. Instilling the drive and determination, making sure I got the most out of my life. It feels appropriate to raise money for a charity that tries to do its bit for other people in a similar situation to Mum.
