London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

I must be crazy - I ran the London Marathon in 2014 and I’m taking it on again in 2020!

I’m a proud father to my son James, who has given me great joy from tiny toddler to the lovely young man he is today. He and I are both privileged to have never needed the support of an organisation like NSPCC, however I am painfully aware that there are so many that need to be helped.

It’s disturbing that NSPCC has identified that it needs to make 5 million children safer by 2021. Technology is at the centre of all of our lives and opens up a world of opportunity, yet it creates dangers too. Cyber bullying is a growing problem and children need to be protected from those that have harm rather than care for children at the centre of their agenda.

Help me drag my legs around the 26.2 miles of the course in 2020 in the knowledge that we are providing NSPCC with the funds they need to fight back.

All the best

Richard
