Story
On 20th July I'm cycling the Etape du Tour - a 172km mountain stage of the Tour de France. It concludes with a climb from 200m to 1912m altitude, the summit of Mont Ventoux, described by Lance Armstrong as "The hardest climb in the Tour, bar none".
Here's an FT article about this year's etape route

I'm hoping to raise awareness of Combat Stress, a great charity that provides amazing support to servicemen. Soldiers, sailors and airmen returning from overseas suffer from a high incidence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, alcoholism and other conditions. Their needs are not always well understood by, nor treated within, the NHS.
Anything that you donate goes to CombatStress - I'm personally covering all entry and transport costs, no rebates claimed. I'm not asking you to pay for my "holiday".
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: COMBAT STRESS gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
