Richard's London Marathon 2022 page for Mark Sadler

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
In October 2021 we sadly lost my Dad, Mark Sadler to Bowel Cancer.
As a Husband, Dad, Grandad, Son, Brother, Brother-In-Law, Father-In-Law, Uncle and Friend he is missed by so many and leaves a huge hole in our lives. We will continue to remember him with his personal wishes supporting charities close to him.
In 2019 our family and friends raised over £50k for immunotherapy treatment which kept my Dad alive for what would be his final years. This treatment was unavailable on the NHS and supporting Bowel Cancer with fundraising will hopefully help people with Bowel Cancer in the future.
A month or so before he passed I told my Dad that I had entered the ballot for the London Marathon and then to be accepted running for Bowel Cancer UK is a huge honour for me and I will do my best to do him proud.
Fund Raising
Half Marathon #RunForSadz - Saturday 2nd July a group of us ran the Birmingham Black Country Half Marathon with a total of 63 donations raising £2,460!!!!! In 2019 we did the same, but to fund my Dad's immunotherapy treatment so thank you for everyone for the support and those who ran with me - Grant Adams, Steve Sadler, Paul Boyd, Mo Spooner, Lee Sheldon and Ben Higgins.
The Hundred - Castle Bromwich Phoenix Vs MSadz Chancers - On Friday 2nd September we raised an amazing £600 for Bowel Cancer UK at the Hundred Cricket Fundraiser!!! It was a close contest with the MSadz Chancers taking the victory. Thanks to everyone at Castle Bromwich Cricket Club, all of the family and friends that supported, the players for taking part and special mention to my brother Sam Sadler for organising the event.
