This year I am using the Great North Run to raise money for Cancer Research UK. 

I lost my mum to cancer in 2008. She was just 50 years old and I can honestly say there isn't a day that goes by when I don't miss her. I'm hoping that the money I raise for Cancer Research might help more people survive cancer in the future.  Please donate whatever you can, it really does mean a lot (and it genuinely makes the training runs more bearable!).
