Story
Over the last 5 years I have done the Tour De Cuisine 3 times starting out on a mountain bike in 2015 and struggling to do 60 miles, whilst wearing a Jamaican Bobsled jumpsuit. To actually getting into cycling and pushing myself more and more each year, but always cycling 60 miles.
This year, because of Covid-19, I was unable to go for my 4th Tour De Cuisine and push for those 100 miles.
So as I am still not back at work yet, and won’t be going back to working in London until September, I have decided to challenge myself solo, to do 100 miles and raise money for Hospitality Action. Last year I was lucky to have raised £520 for Hospitality Action. This year I will be cycling in a little under 4 weeks time, so I can’t imagine I will raise anywhere near the same amount. But I’ve set my goal for £220 and hope that if I can achieve that, I will have collectively raised £1000 during lockdown.
Hospitality Action is a charity that supports people in the Hospitality Industry who may be going through tough times, grievance, personal trauma, money, struggling with mental health and addiction. I have had the privilege to have them as my charity for the last 5 years and I would love to help them even more, because mental health is something that is so close to my heart.
