Story
Hi, on Sunday 11th December my daughter and I are taking part in a Santa Fun run in Wimborne/Dorset. The run itself is great fun and designed for adults and children to embrace some Christmas family fun (as all runners are dressed in full Santa outfits), but more importantly, provides a fantastic opportunity to raise money for a very worthwhile charity.
This year Charlotte (my 8yr old daughter) and I would love to get behind Epilepsy Action in memory of Max.
In June 2011 Gail Miller Prior of Corfe Mullen (Wimborne, Dorset), lost her 22 month old son, Max, to a rare condition called Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). To commemorate Max's life a group of family, friends and colleagues have come together as TeamMAX.
Max was a happy little boy who enjoyed life literally to the 'max'. It is a tragedy that his life was cut short by an occurrence so little is known about.
TeamMAX : The goal of sponsorship and fundraising for all events is to be able to fund a research grant via Epilepsy Action into the causes and cures for all children and adults living with epilepsy.
Although I didn't know Max or the family well, Max attended the same Nursery as my children, so for me this provides an invaluable and sad reminder of how such tragedy can occur. For this reason Charlotte and I would love to support the family and help add to their already amassing efforts.
