We at Richmond Volleyball Club are very privileged to have such a wonderful group of fantastic players young and old!  Since the start of the season they have all been honing their volleyball skills but more importantly they are learning the values of teamwork, meeting new friends, playing matches, feeling the excitement of competition, getting loads of exercise and much, much more. 

Over the past couple of years we have run a charity fundraising event  during this time of year for the Teenage Cancer Trust called "10,000 Digs for Kids".  The event takes place during the last training session before Christmas whereby our youngest training squad is set the task of working together to perform 10,000 total combined volleyball digs.  Not an easy feat but each time they were excited to give it a try and each time they succeeded collectively!  Not only did they perform 10,000 digs last year but they smashed their fundraising of £750 by raising over three times their target!!  A super result and a great cause!

So this year we are going all out! 

Not 10,000 Digs but.....wait for it.... 100,000 Digs!!!  

This will be a combined effort of all the training squads during each of their last training sessions before the Christmas break.  It's a big number and lots of effort will be needed but they can do it!

We are also raising our fundraising target from last year's £750 to £1,000. That works out to 1p for every 10 digs!  What a bargain!! 

Of course all of this effort is for those Teenagers who are battling Cancer and all monies raised will go directly to making their lives a just a little bit better.  This is where you all can help.  Please spread the word and tell of your friends, family, co-workers, neighbours etc and help us smash our fundraising goal by getting those donations in! Any amount given is greatly appreciated!
