When I first got asked if I wanted to do this, 100k over two days, I accepted with my usual blind optimism about what my body could cope with. After talking to more than a few people who are actually way more qualified to make that judgement, I now know this is going to be a serious challenge.

Not as much of challenge though as so many people, their family and friends confront when illness takes the people they love. Sadly Jim’s niece passed away last year at an age no one should. Without the help and strength, care and love of this amazing hospital service it would have been even more devastating. Charities like this one and many others do amazing work everyday, yet they have to rely on people’s generosity to keep doing what they can. No matter what happens across this walk (I still misguidedly think I can run it…) I will do everything I can to finish, it will be hard, it will hurt, but nowhere near as much as losing someone you love.
