Story

Tecmark managing director Richard Heyes and former professional rugby league player Mike Wainwright, now an account manager at Tecmark, are about to embark on one of the toughest challenges they’ve ever faced.

In October 2015 the pair will climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in just five days - four fewer than the usual nine needed to complete this gruelling task. If thats not tough enough, they will join the rest of the SPF team in a game of Rugby league at the top, which will be a new Guinness world Record!

They’re raising funds for the Steve Prescott Foundation, which supports The Christie Cancer Hospital in Manchester and rugby league’s Try Assist - a fund designed to help players whose lives are affected by serious injuries.

Steve Prescott MBE was an inspirational figure.

In September 2006 he was given just months to live after being diagnosed with pseudomyxoma peritonei, a rare form of cancer.

But he defied all the odds and completed a series of gruelling challenges over the next seven years.

Climbing Kilimanjaro in just five days was one of Steve’s remaining ambitions.

By taking on this challenge Richard and Mike hope to pay tribute to Steve and keep alive his magnificent legacy.
