THANK YOU! Highest fundraising team and fastest ladies team!
With your help and THE Rickmers Group doubling DONATIONS, WE raised a total of £42,990!
The sixth "Sailors' Society Three Peaks Challenge" took place from 20 - 23 June 2014. About 40 teams all from the shipping industry climbed three of the highest mountains in the UK – within 24 hours – and thereby raised money for a good cause.
The Rickmers Group made its own very successful contribution to the efforts of the Sailors‘ Society with two teams: a men‘s team comprising John Petersen (Line Management, Rickmers-Linie), Niko Wiegmann (Asset Management, Rickmers Reederei) and Jan Duken (Managing Partner at Kontor-Group Hamburg), who replaced Dr. Ignace Van Meenen who had to cancel at short notice, and a women‘s team made up of Daniela Bernetzeder (Executive Assistant, Rickmers-Linie), Nadia Eberlein (Executive Assistant, Rickmers Holding) and Maike Holz (Treasury & Risk, Rickmers Holding).
With the help of donations and the support of the Rickmers Group which doubled funds raised, a total of £42,990 was collected. This great fundraising success helped the teams to win the prize for the “highest fundraising team”! Both teams successfully conquered all three peaks with the ladies team coming ahead of their peers to take first place!
All participants were thrilled by this unique experience and the great team spirit was even acknowledged by the organisers and other teams.
Thank you very much to all of you who supported the Rickmers Group with their generous donations!
We are sure the funds raised will be of great help to the Sailors’ Society in providing support to seafarers all over the world. This year the donations will also be used to build a new school in the Philippines!
