RTU is a grassroots organisation, working with the poorest children and families in rural communities in South India to change their lives for good. We build decent housing, drill wells, run schools, promote rural enterprise, and care for 1,000 orphaned children in 4 Children's Villages.

Story

On December 31st we'll be setting out on a journey across Southern India, behind the wheel of a clapped-out old rickshaw. During eight days we will cover over 1,000km, while negotiating rough terrain, changeable weather and trying to navigate our temperamental rickshaw – finishing our journey in Kanyakumari, the southernmost point of India.

Are we a teeny bit insane? Yes

Is our rickshaw likely to break down most days? Yes, probably

Have either of us ever changed a tyre before? Er, no

Are we going to do it anyway? DEFINITELY!

So why should you sponsor us?

Every penny we raise will go towards Reaching The Unreached. It is a UK registered charity that works with orphaned children and poor villages in Southern India. The charity runs immunisation programmes and dental checks, provides safe water wells, supports homeless children – and much more. Check out the website at: www.rtu.org.uk

We hugely appreciate anything that you can give. Thank you so much!
