We grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

First here's a bit about the Charity

Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. Since being established in the UK in 1986, we have granted over 6,400 wishes.

Our mission statement: To grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses and raise the funds necessary to grant those wishes. In doing so, we operate to the highest ethical, legal and professional standards so that families choose Make-A-Wish to grant their child's wish and medical staff and supporters hold Make-A-Wish in high regard.

  • There are 20,000 children and young people living in the UK with a life-threatening illness.
  • Make-A-Wish has granted 6,400 wishes over 25 years.
  • This year alone 1,200 children will turn to us to have their special wish granted. And we want to grant a wish to every one of these.
  • We know that our wishes transform lives!
  • Make-A-Wish needs to raise £5.5m in 2011 to achieve this.

An example of the amazing moments that Make a wish create can be seen in the links below:

Now a bit about the Challenge!!!!!

Brammer UK is part of Europe's leading distributor of the highest quality industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services. There are 14 locations Across Scotland and Northern Ireland and along with 2 of my colleagues we are planning to Cycle to each one of the North Region offices covering over 600miles!!!!!

We are starting on Tuesday 3rd May 2011 and will finish at Carlisle branch on 12th May 2011, please note the same year!.  The route is 600 – 800 miles (approximate mileage) the route may vary to avoid main roads.

Day 1.Brammer Fort William – Brammer Inverness (62.2Miles), (alternative safe route 92.0 miles)

Day 2/3.Brammer Inverness – Johnson & Johnson LifeScan - Brammer Aberdeen (103.4 Miles)

Day 4.Brammer Aberdeen – Michelin Dundee – Brammer Dundee (65.1 + 4.9 = 70.0 Miles)

Day 5/6.Brammer Dundee – Brammer Glenrothes – Brammer Lothian – Brammer Grangemouth (49.5 + 47.2 + 14.7 = 111.4 Miles)

Day 7.Brammer Grangemouth – Brammer Uddingston – Brammer Glasgow – Brammer Paisley – Brammer Irvine – Ferry to Belfast (24.9 + 12.4 + 5.2 + 22.4 = 64.9 Miles)
