BUPA Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Basically we're after your cash - but in case your interested here's the background:

On a Friday night in Doggetts about a year ago, a few of us were discussing running / marathons and the relative fitness/unfitness of those present. Drink was obviously involved and the conversation somehow went from casual chat to a few of us committing to running a half marathon......we're not quite sure how.

Anyway, here we are, and of those present back in Doggetts only 2 of us (from MM) have stuck by our commitment and are up for a challenge.

The challenge - The 2009 Great North Run (half marathon)

The runners - Jonathan Todd and Olivia Riddle

The time - September 20th

The charity - Royal National Institute for the Blind

If you'd like to donate then it'd be most appreciated (this joint page is for us both as we're running for the same charity) and if not thanks for visiting the site anyway, just passing on the word might get a few more quid, or at any rate raise awareness!

Also any personal encouragement for me would be welcome, as I have the additional challenge of putting up with Jonathan who seems to have never run anywhere before, and has been very trying, ahem, I mean trying very hard in training!
