On the 9th July, we (Michael Bassett and James Billington) are attempting an off-road bike challenge where we will attempt to cycle the 210 miles from St Bees on the West coast of England to Robin Hood's bay on the East coast, all (or as much as possible) off road. We start and finish at sea level, but the overall climb during the challenge is more than 23,000 feet.
We are doing this to support the amazing work of Coventry City Mission, who work with some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the country. The Mission runs a number of groups and activities including foodbank, groups for older people and a 'pay-what-you-can' cafe which offers hot meals on the basis of a donation (or at no cost)
They do amazing work and help thousands of people each year, but their building (in Wood End, Coventry) is in desperate need of a new roof. The roof is beyond repair and is in real need of replacing asap. The total cost of the work is £100,000.
We want to do our bit to support this amazing charity and the people they help and hope you may want to make a donation towards our efforts.
