Imagine being told your toddler you thought was healthy, but perhaps slow to progress, in fact had a rare and devastating disability that would leave them needing lifelong 24/7 care. Rett syndrome changes lives irrevocably. With your support Rett UK is there from the beginning. #ToKnowHerIsToLoveHer

Story

Who is it for? Rett Syndrome Association UK
What is Rett Syndrome? Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorder affecting mainly females. Although present at birth, it is usually undetected until major regression occurs at around one year of age, when children will lose acquired skills. People with Rett syndrome have profound and multiple physical and learning disabilities and are totally reliant on others for support throughout their lives. As with any disability, the impact of the condition is not only upon the child but upon family and carers too. RSAUK seeks to support the person with Rett syndrome and the family together. They are all ‘living with Rett syndrome’. Please click here for more information

What am I doing?
Ride from Luton (UK) to Utrecht (NL)

How far is it? 230km
Will it hurt? You betcha....I've not been on a bike in anger in over a year...training is painful!

Please help me achieve my goal of raising £500 for Rett Syndrome Association UK! Your donation will make a difference in helping to find a cure for Rett syndrome. Your money will also be used to support families and carers thereby ensuring that people with Rett syndrome have access to best practice in diagnosis, treatment and care.
